Rachel of Glass Art: Crafting Art through Glass and Silver
Rachel is a talented artist known for creating distinctive fused-glass and silver-clay jewellery, as well as a wide array of decorative and functional glass pieces. Her work is deeply inspired by her lifelong passion for archaeology, a field she has been involved with since a young age. After graduating from Bournemouth University, Rachel honed her skills on excavation sites throughout the UK, where she gained expertise in pottery, fired clay, and small metal finds, including brooches, beads, and rings.
Rachel’s journey took an intriguing turn when she briefly stepped away from archaeology to work on helicopter virtual builds, collaborate with Dorset Police, and raise a family. However, her deep connection to the natural beauty and history of her Dorset home remains a constant source of inspiration. The stunning Jurassic Coast, lush woodlands, and rich historical landscapes of the area continue to inform her creative process, resulting in art that reflects both her heritage and her artistic evolution.
