Kerry Darlington is a celebrated Welsh artist whose work fuses imagination, storytelling and fine art craft. Born in 1974 in Rhyl, North Wales, she has become known for her distinctive paintings and unique hand-finished editions, which are treasured by collectors across the UK and beyond.
Her artistic journey began with a degree in illustration, where she first developed her love for intricate pen-and-ink drawing. Over time her practice expanded, embracing acrylics, oils and resin to create richly layered works with striking depth and texture. This combination of transparent surfaces and vibrant colour has become her signature style, giving her pieces a luminous, almost otherworldly presence.
Kerry draws inspiration from children’s literature and mythology, particularly the works of Arthur Rackham, as well as the flowing lines of Art Nouveau, the romance of the Pre-Raphaelites, and the fantastical edge of Steampunk aesthetics. These influences converge in her much-loved collections, including her celebrated interpretations of Alice in Wonderland and the iconic Tree of Life series, which capture both wonder and timeless beauty.
Today she is recognised as one of the UK’s most sought-after published artists. Her hand-embellished editions are collected internationally, and her success has been honoured with the Fine Art Trade Guild’s Best-Selling Published Artist Award on two occasions.
