Wilfred: A Master of Colour and Harmony
Wilfred’s paintings are a fusion of Eastern and Western influences, blending natural and urban landscapes with a controlled yet lyrical style. His bold use of colour and distinctive compositions make his work instantly recognizable, whether depicting cityscapes, harbours, or abstract forms.
Born in 1954 into a Dutch artistic family in Shanghai, Wilfred trained in traditional Chinese painting before attending the prestigious Shanghai Art School. Travels through China’s sacred mountains deepened his connection to nature, influencing his artistic journey. Later, a move to Hawaii inspired his shift toward abstraction and mastery of colour.
Now splitting his time between Amsterdam and Hawaii, Wilfred has gained international acclaim, earning numerous awards for his vibrant, expressive work.
