Born in 1969, Staffordshire-based artist Martin Robson has been passionate about art and wildlife since childhood. Growing up near Cannock Chase inspired his lifelong love of animals and nature—now the heart of his work.
After earning a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Wolverhampton University, Martin spent 25 years as a commercial artist and Creative Director in the gaming industry before returning to his true passion: fine art. Today, he paints full-time from his studio, specialising in highly detailed acrylic portraits of animals that capture their unique spirit and emotion.
Known for his realism and striking use of light and shadow, Martin begins each piece with the eyes—believing they hold the soul of his subject. His dedication to craftsmanship and continual growth drives his work, reflecting both his artistic precision and deep affection for the natural world.
