Jenny Bardell: Celebrating Nature’s Beauty
Jenny Bardell’s vibrant animal artworks are deeply inspired by her life on Tiree, a remote island off Scotland’s west coast. Surrounded by stunning coastlines, endless skies, and abundant wildlife, Jenny is captivated by the natural world’s beauty and fragility. Living in such close proximity to the ocean has heightened her awareness of environmental issues, which profoundly influences her work.
Having grown up in a rural village where horses and dogs were her first loves, Jenny’s passion for animals has always been at the heart of her art. After living across the UK and always gravitating toward coastal locations, she settled on Tiree, where the dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife continually fuel her creativity.
Jenny’s recent collections showcase an array of creatures depicted in bold monochromes and vivid colours, often embellished with materials like diamond dust and gold leaf to add impact and give these magnificent animals the attention they deserve. Her unique style captures the spirit of Tiree’s rugged beauty and the vitality of the natural world.
“This island really is a dream,” Jenny reflects. “From stormy seas and rock pools to mesmerising horizons and sunrises, I find inspiration everywhere.”
