Francisco Bartus is a Spanish painter born in 1965 in Valencia. Recognised early for his talent and vision, he was encouraged by his high school teachers to pursue art at a higher level. After completing his formal education, Bartus began his career as a professional designer and visual artist.
A significant influence on his artistic development was the renowned Spanish artist Juan Genovés. Through working alongside him, Bartus evolved his practice and began exploring new artistic directions. Using plastic-based media, he developed a distinctive visual language that explores how deep human emotions are both inherited and shaped by personal experience.
Bartus is known for his powerful pictorial techniques and his ability to communicate shared human sentiment. His work is characterised by the innovative use of mixed media, creating a striking three-dimensional effect through layered paint and textured surfaces. These elements give his pieces depth, movement, and a strong sense of individuality.
His artworks are bold, contemporary, and highly distinctive, combining a wide range of materials and techniques to create visually engaging and emotionally resonant compositions. Bartus has exhibited extensively across Europe, with shows in galleries in Spain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
