Campbell La Pun: Urban Pop Visionary
Campbell La Pun’s vibrant urban pop art reflects the energy and excitement of Tokyo, where eastern and western cultures collide. Originally from New Zealand and raised in Australia, he now lives in the fast-paced megacity, drawing inspiration from its dazzling sights, sounds, and modern consumer culture. His large-scale works feature bold colours, luxury brand iconography, and pop culture references, created using handmade stencils and spray paint on wood and canvas.
After earning a BA in Media Arts from RMIT University Melbourne, Campbell moved to Japan and quickly made his mark on the global art scene, exhibiting and selling his work across four continents. Influenced by the iconic collaborations of Warhol and Basquiat, as well as artists like Anthony Lister and Madsaki, his distinctive style has attracted collectors including pop stars and influencers such as Mel B and Kylie Jenner, as well as corporations like Moet Hennessy.
“My aim is to make work that people can just see and smile,” says Campbell, whose art brings a burst of positivity to modern life.
