Antonio: Capturing Light & the Urban Landscape
Antonio’s striking portrayals of cityscapes and water surfaces blur the line between abstraction and realism. Born in Naples in 1959, he has spent his life studying art across Europe, drawing inspiration from the geometric architecture of Manhattan. Using photography to capture fleeting moments of perfect light, he translates them onto aluminium with oils applied by brush, spatula, and fingertips—constantly adding and removing layers to create his signature shimmering effect.
His sought-after works have been showcased in solo exhibitions across Europe, the USA, and Japan, earning him international acclaim. As Antonio says, “It is the light that I paint, and the beauty of the landscape unfolds.”
