Anna: Vibrant and Emotional Landscapes
Anna’s breath-taking landscapes are a celebration of colour and emotion, capturing the beauty and dynamism of stunning harbour locations bathed in vivid sunsets. Her unique approach to composition is driven by a fascination with the harmonious interplay of colours within a scene. Each piece is a vibrant expression of energy and atmosphere, brought to life through what Anna describes as “exploding skies” that unleash a spectrum of radiant and dramatic hues.
Painting intuitively, Anna embraces a hands-on approach to her craft, using brushes, sponges, palette knives, and even her hands to manipulate the paint and create dynamic textures. While oils have become her primary medium, she also incorporates spray paint, metallic acrylics, and inks to add depth and intrigue to her work. This dedication to experimentation and mastery of technique allows her to convey the raw emotion and spirit of her subjects.
Art has been a lifelong passion for Anna, inspired from an early age by her artist mother. Over time, she developed her own creative response to the world around her, drawing influence from masters such as Turner and Matisse, as well as the expressive style and vivid palette of Joanne Corno and the effortless fashion illustrations of David Downton. This blend of influences has shaped her signature style, balancing spontaneous expression with the formal elements of composition and line.
Anna’s work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries across London, Cambridge, and York, earning her international recognition through Saatchi. In 2014, she collaborated with DAPA and Berkeley Homes on a high-profile interior design project at One Tower Bridge. More recently, she completed a significant commission for the University of York, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the History department.
With each piece she creates, Anna invites viewers to immerse themselves in the dynamic energy and emotional resonance of the natural world.
